Essmart bridges the gap between essential technology manufacturers and households that need their products by creating a marketplace for these products in local retail shops. We demonstrate a catalogue of products at the community level, distribute to local retail shops, and facilitate manufacturers’ warranties. We started operations in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, India, and we invite you to join us as we deliver the goods.
The longer version
Essmart is a process innovation that creates a channel for life-improving technologies to move from manufacturers into the hands of people who can benefit from them. We leverage the existing retail shop network, where trust-based buying relationships are already established. After aggregating a catalogue of in-demand, high-quality technologies, we demonstrate the technologies in shops, distribute them, and ensure after-sales service through manufacturers’ warranties. Just as Sears-Roebuck revolutionized distribution by bringing a catalogue of great products to every home in America, we aim to revolutionize distribution in India and create a channel through which life-improving products can reach millions. While doing this, we also collect and package information about end users’ buying preferences, spending habits, technological needs, and user experiences.
